I remember! As soon as I realized the amazing amount of stress you go through to get your pictures done I just had to blog about it. It all started the day before the shoot when I realized I didn’t have any clothes for us to wear. I had been so busy with everyone else’s pics that I totally procrastinated with ours. So I decided to take a quick shopping trip. How bad could this be? I already knew I wanted to be photographed with our family wearing shades of brown. (I am obsessed with brown. I just love the color and it looks good on me-what can I say. If Mom doesn’t look good, nobody looks good.) So I ran into a store, very much believing they would have what I was looking for. Nothing! Well, that’s ok. A quick trip down the street and surely the next store would have the right clothes. Again, nothing! What? It’s brown. And it’s fall-this should be a basic color for stores to carry this time of the year. Alright, I leave the store a little dismayed, but I am not panicking yet. There is another store next door. Needless to say, my shopping trip did not end there. 4 stores and 3 hours later I ended up with a totally different color scheme. I was completely frazzled and not a happy girl. I get back to the house only for my husband, Jeff, to tell me that he doesn’t like the shirt I bought him. Are you flippin’ kidding me? Finally, by 11pm that night I ended up having all of the clothes picked out. Step 1 was completed. On to step 2-actually getting our pictures taken.
So here’s how the session went…”Jordan, sit down. Brandon, quit making that weird face. Jordan, move your leg over. Brandon, quit making that weird face. Sit up straight. Quit talking. Don’t irritate your brother. YOU BOYS ARE GOING TO LOOSE YOUR TREAT IF YOU DON’T STOP!”
So there you have it. I totally understand. Next time you show up frazzled because your son just spilled his juice down his shirt or your daughter has a huge bruise on her forehead, I can honestly say to you, “It will be ok and your pictures will look great.”

My son, Jordan, is obsessed with this picture.

We ended the session by letting loose and being silly.

A few posts ago I showed you some e-pics of one of my brides that is getting married next year. Her name is Christal and she has her own blog. I was catching up on it and read her entry about her random thoughts and I had to laugh. I think these weird random thoughts are just part of being a girl. Anyway, her random thoughts centered around her dismay with the inconsistencies of the sizing of women’s jeans. What a pain-I had to agre. But then I went on to think about my own issues with clothing. I HATE to shop for clothing-shirts in particular. For those of you who do not know what I look like, I was lovingly referred to as an “apple” by a friend of mine. Apple? Well, I prefer to say curvy, but whatever. Apple it is! (I digress! Back to the subject.) Why is it so darn hard to find a shirt that looks good on me? Really, the clothing industry must have it in for us apples. So I am putting out an APB for great fitting shirts. Anyone with good ideas, please don’t hesitate to reply. And don’t say LIPO it’s already on my list.

To say Tracey is one of the world’s best babysitters is not giving her enough credit for all she has done for our family. Her vast knowledge of children (and their many quirks) has made me a better mom. So, when Tracey was recently diagnosed with breast cancer her only request from me was to photograph her family before her surgery and subsequent radiation therapy and chemotherapy. I jumped on the opportunity (since I had been begging her to get family pics done for at least 5 years now). Here are a few of the pics from their session.
And as a side note…Tracey just had her surgery on Monday. She is doing well. They removed the entire tumor and her lymph nodes were NOT affected. Yea. Please keep Tracy in your thoughts while she recovers from this surgery and moves forward with her treatment plan.

So I had the distint pleasure of heading down to Newport, Ky and photographing 3 totally sober adults in footie pajamas! What a blast. I had a great time and laughed by butt off! 96 Rock was in charge of this madness. Take a look at their website at www.purerock96.com. I think the pics will be up some time next week.

I’m sick! It’s just a stupid cold, but aggggg, I hate being sick. And how does this even happen-my nose is stuffed up AND running at the same time. So here’s the Dove quote for today…”When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” Well, life gave me snot today. What do I make out of that? Sorry, It must be the Sudafed talking! Back to work.

So, I really enjoyed this couple. They are super sweet and a joy to be around. Christal has a new blog that is journaling her engagement. I thoroughly enjoyed reading her blog. She’s such a good writer. Her blog is http://www.2corinthians517.wordpress.com/ . I can’t wait for your wedding!

We had such a great time at the Extreme Makeover viewing party on Sunday. The show was great. It was almost surreal to watch it an TV because I was right along side them photographing the whole thing. What an amazing experience to be part of something that has so drastically changed a family’s life. Below are some shots from the party and some of the inside of the house with our pictures hung.

Here are the swag bags that were passed out to the guests of the party.

Here is one of the rooms at Brazenhead that we were in.

Here are some of my closest friends that came out to watch the show.

A picture of me before the party started.
